Located on the outskirts of Rock, a ferry ride from the fishing village of Padstow, Gleneglos has easy access to a wide range of holiday activities.

Coastal and countryside walks

There are many safe sandy beaches, Daymer Bay a safe and sheltered child friendly beach,with rock pools and safe bathing water. Polzeath a flat sandy protected beach offering a safe location for activities such as swimming, snorkelling (on calm days) surfing, beach cricket, kite flying etc. Coastal cliff paths and countryside footpaths for walkers, one particularly pleasant local route winds past St Enodoc Church and Churchyard, the resting place of Poet Laureate Sir John Betjeman who loved the region. Nearby lies the South West Coast path across National Trust land to such places as New Polzeath and onward towards Port Isaac viewing glorious bays and countryside( returning by bus if you are tired). If you are lucky you might see dolphins, seals and the occasional basking shark from the cliffs.
